Roundtable Consultation organized by AGPR

The Advisory Group on Poverty Reduction is organizing a roundtable discussion on poverty reduction on April 28, 2015 in Saskatoon.

The day-long facilitated discussion will include the participation of more than 130 organizations and individuals from across the province.

Regina Poverty Awareness Events – October 2014

There will be a ‘Chew on This’ event in Regina on Thursday, October 16 at noon to raise awareness about the issue of poverty & hunger in Canada.

Poverty Free Saskatchewan will be partnering with the Regina Anti-Poverty Ministry to deliver a press conference about poverty awareness. The press conference will be held at 10 am on Friday the 17th at the Heritage Community Centre (old fire hall on 11th Ave) in Regina. PFS will have a display at the event with copies of our Communities Respond handout for anyone who is interested.

Poverty Awareness Week in Saskatoon – October 13-17, 2014

Events will be taking place throughout the week in Saskatoon, organized by Passion for Action Against Homelessness and Saskatoon Anti Poverty Coalition.

Wednesday: Public Forum on Housing in Saskatoon, 1:30-3pm at Station 20 West

Thursday: Lunch and Learn Essential Voices, 11:30am-1:30pm at the Crocus Co-op Meeting Room (135 Ave B South)

Friday: Chew on This (details TBA)

Friday: Hands Across the Bridge, gather at 5pm at Rotary Park near the Broadway Bridge

Regional Forum to End Poverty – Tisdale, October 16, 2014

This event will be hosted by the Northeast Poverty Reduction Taskforce and the Northeast Regional Intersectoral Committee at the Tisdale & District Golden Age Centre on October 16, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The forum aims to build regional capacity to address poverty and will feature expert guest speakers and panel discussions. Social Justice Conference

October 18, 2014 – Vanier Collegiate, Moose Jaw

“Light a Spark, Set a Fire: Become Active Participants in Social Justice” hosted by the Archdiocese of Regina.

This event will include presentations about human rights/poverty, environmental justice & health, food security & global connections, and social justice successes. PFS will be doing a presentation.
